Following the recent approval by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to operate as a thrift bank, Bank of Makati sheds its rural bank image as it officially becomes Bank of Makati, (A Savings Bank) Inc.
“After years of preparation for this upgrade to savings bank, we are proud to join the league of big players in the banking industry. This is an exciting time for us. We will be opening doors to more clients, helping them attain more financial security and offering micro, small and medium enterprises (mSMEs) better services to grow their business,” said Bank of Makati President Ma. Rodora E. Bañares.
With the change, Bank of Makati brings its no-frills, personalized “Malalapitan, Maaasahang Kaibigan” service to a broader reach. The bank operates for longer hours than most banks, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Mondays to Fridays and 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturdays. Branches and loan centers all have Loan Officers dedicated to addressing concerns of borrowers; these officers even do house calls or business calls when clients are unable to go to a branch or loan center. Bank of Makati tailor fits requirements to suit client needs. Our vision is to be the mSME bank of choice, says Pres. Bañares.
Established in July 1956, Bank of Makati has more than 50 years of experience in community banking, and has helped countless Filipino savers and entrepreneurs achieve their dreams. In 2001, it gained stronger capability with the coming in of new stakeholders, a new management and bigger capitalization. Today, total capital stands at Php5.77B.
