Makati – Bank of Makati (A Rural Bank), Inc. opened its first microfinance branch last July 31, 2013 at Libertad, Pasay City. Bank of Makati’s venture into micro financing is part of the bank’s vision of providing financial services to small savers and the new enterprising generation.
The micro finance branch aims to serve the needs of the informal and micro industries. The branch will offer small loans to this sector as well as micro and regular savings.
Bank of Makati is a rural bank based in Makati and started its operations in 1956. In 2001, the bank’s ownership changed hands infusing fresh capital and a new management team. To date, the bank has 18 branches and 23 loan centers. Bank of Makati has a total asset of P21.4B and a capital base of P5.3B.
